Hellenic Solar Shading Association is a legal entity under public law. Its members are distinguished companies active in the manufacture & marketing of indoor and outdoor shading items, at wholesale level.


The aims and objectives of the Association, among others, are:

  • Highlighting the benefits of shading in improving living conditions in outdoor and indoor spaces.
  • Highlighting shading as a means of saving energy and an important factor in reducing the environmental footprint.
  • The harmonization of industry practices and products, with modern European standards, through ES-SO.
  • Highlighting the Greek identity of shading products in the domestic and international market.

Organisation (ES-SO)

European Solar Shading Organisation (ES-SO) is a non-profit organisation under Belgian law that aims to promote the positive impact of solar shading on indoor climate management, thereby supporting the EU’s ambitious energy-efficiency goals. 

ES-SO is the European umbrella organisation of professional solar shading organisations. Based in Brussels, it is ideally located to guarantee that the voice of the industry is heard and that it can make a positive contribution to the European energy targets. 

Across Europe, the shading industry employs over 450,000 people and generates annual sales in excess of €22 billion.

ES-SO is based in Brussels, the ideal location to guarantee that the voice of industry is heard and that it can contribute positively to European energy goals. ES-SO is also actively involved in a number of European projects in both a coordinating and advisory role.
